The mission of the online platform Wheel the World is to make travel more accessible for seniors and people with disabilities.
At the site, users can find and book things to do, places to stay, and trips that are guaranteed to be accessible for people who use wheelchairs and have other challenges.
The online marketplace already has listings for more than 80 destinations around the world, calling out essential information about stairs, pool lifts, and potential obstacles that can prevent some folks from being able to enjoy travel.
Now Wheel the World is offering its first multiday group tours. The nine itineraries include fully accessible accommodations, activities, ground transportation, and trained guides.

Six destinations are available: New York City, Costa Rica, Greece, Israel, Morocco (pictured at top), and Switzerland. Experiences range from scenic train rides through the Alps to adaptive zip lining in a Central American jungle to a women-only journey through North African marketplaces.
In a press release, Wheel the World describes the 5- to 10-day trips as a way to "explore new destinations in a safe way, while accompanied by like-minded fellow travelers and accessibility-trained guides."

For each tour, up to 10 spots are reserved for manual and power wheelchair users. Planned in-destination assistance is designed to let travelers stay focused on making memories rather than managing logistics.

The first tours set out in April. Prices start at $2,400 per person. Airfare is not included.
