First up, Frommer's editorial director Pauline Frommer and editor-in-chief Jason Cochran mark St. Patrick's Day by inviting listeners to call in with questions about and recommendations for travel in Ireland. That leads to discussions of the island's natural beauty, livestock traffic jams, and attractions such as the Ring of Kerry and Dublin's Trinity College. One caller shares an evocative reminiscence that includes a job review for an ineffective Irish sheepdog.
But the Emerald Isle isn't the episode's only destination. Later, Pauline chats with author Susan Breslow about her book The Complete Guide to Vow Renewals: How to Create a Celebration of Marriage That You'll Love (cowritten with Geri Bain). What does saying "I do" a second time to the same person have to do with travel? “You can certainly have a vow renewal at home," says Breslow, "but the most romantic ones are at a destination, whether it’s a beach or a castle or sailing down the river.”
