Quiet as a dropped pin, this tidy, well-run hotel down a dead-end residential street just west of Harrods (your neighbors: the 1%) distinguishes itself by offering more services than the standard: free afternoon tea with homemade scones, free cocktails by evening. Rooms—most of which are tucked away in a tortuous maze of corridors resulting from the combination of several townhouses—are spacious for London, tastefully and conservatively decorated with delicate wallpaper and big cushy beds, finely equipped, and a value compared to others of the same price. It’s fairly good with options for families. The museums of South Kensington are a 5-min. walk away, as is Hyde Park.
