The back room of a nondescript music shop has drawn some big names since it became magnet and mentor for emerging folk singers in the ’60s. A short list of established artists who have been happy to play to just 150 people includes Allen John Lee Hooker, Joni Mitchell, T-Bone Burnett, and Ann and Nancy Wilson. 2014 has seen Denny Laine, Dan Hicks, and David Bromberg. No alcohol is served, and all ages are allowed. Fun fact: Owner Bob Riskin’s mother was Fay Wray.
