Set on the tiny main drag of the tranquil Ȋle Saint-Louis, this friendly place has a prime location on one of the city’s most desirable pieces of real estate. The impeccable rooms are done up in a low-key modern style with historic touches: stone floors, dark wood furniture, and framed etchings of 17th- and 18th-century nobles from days of yore. The street-side rooms are quiet but a little dark; if you want a lot of light ask for a corner room, or splurge on one of the rooms on the top floor. The elevators stop at landings between floors, so you’ll have to be able to manage stairs here. A handicap-accessible room is on the ground floor.
