Chock-full of exposed beams and stone walls (not to mention narrow stairways—there is no elevator), this 17th-century building has been carefully restored, and the simple lodgings receive ongoing tender loving care the friendly staff. Most of the rooms are predictably small, but are cheerfully decorated with fresh white walls, floral bedspreads, and the owner’s personal touches. If you can handle the climb to the top floor, you’ll be rewarded with a roomy suite that can sleep three. The hotel is located near Les Halles and the Montorgueil neighborhood (very hip at night). Staying on a Sunday is much cheaper that other nights of the week. We have two warnings though: there's no air conditioning and no elevator.
