Just off the Place des Vosges, this “Queen’s Pavilion” harkens back to the days when the magnificent square was the home of royalty. You certainly feel like a noble as you pass through an arcade into a small formal garden, and enter this elegant mansion, which is set back from the hustle and bustle of the Marais. Despite its 54 rooms, the hotel feels small and intimate, like a lord’s private hunting lodge in the country. The decor is a suave and subtle combination of modern and antique history: Dark period furniture blends with rich colors on the walls and beds, and choice objects and historic details abound. Guests have access to a full spa, offering sauna and fitness room, as well as massages and treatments. There’s also a chic French restaurant, Anne, with a 150€ tasting menu that’s worth staying in for (Wed–Sat lunch and dinner; Sun lunch only; lunch menu 59€-69€).
