An atmospheric 17th-century dining room near the Seine with exposed stone walls and wooden beams is the setting for the sort of French cuisine you crave when you think of Paris—langoustines, suckling lamb, ultra-ripe cheeses, and the “black diamonds” (truffles) that the restaurant takes its name from, prepared with panache by talented chef Quentin Maisonnobe. If you’re into wine, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better restaurant: The menu has over 3,000 bottles. Thank goodness for the sommelier, who takes into account both your budget and the dishes you’ve ordered. Tasting menus cost up to 175€ in the evening, so the 42€ lunch menu is one of the best deals in town.
