The first permanent food truck plaza in San Francisco, SoMa StrEat Food Park established itself as one of the best places to sample a variety of outstanding foods. Each day eight or so trucks, from a pool of about 30 rotating vendors, roll in and serve lunch; on weekends the fun continues through dinner. Choose from among vendors such as Curry Up Now, Seoul on Wheels, Adam’s Grub Truck, and Chairman Bao—you’re sure to find something you like, no matter when you show up. The food is high quality, the trucks are clean, and there’s covered seating, music, flatscreen TVs, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi. With no tourist attractions close by, but easy public transportation access, this place is a destination in itself; it feels like one big party, where you can hang out and eat with locals. Most vendors take credit cards; there’s also an ATM on site.
