Four-Night Bahamas Package, from $339 with Air

Save more than $220 with this affordable Bahamas vacation package, which includes airfare, four nights' hotel, and a complimentary room upgrade just for Frommers.com readers.

This exclusive deal for Frommer's readers should get your bags packed to the Caribbean in a hurry. This four-night Bahamas deal from CheapCaribbean.com (tel. 800/915-2322; www.cheapcaribbean.com) includes airfare from Fort Lauderdale -- all from $339 per person.

This particular deal to the Bahamas has been customized for Frommer's readers with a complimentary upgrade (based on availability), and it also features a longer booking window than what's typically offered by CheapCaribbean.com packages.

The beachfront Viva Wyndham Fortuna is in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. It's actually the only all-inclusive property on Grand Bahama. In addition to the usual kayak rentals, windsurfing, and snorkeling, there's a five-star PADI dive center -- and trapeze lessons.

If booked separately, according to a Kayak search for a Thursday departure in early September, the airfare starts at $265 per person. A four-night stay starts at about $374 per person if you book the advance purchase, non-refundable rate through Viva Wyndham's website. If booked independently, airfare and four nights' hotel comes to $639 per person. When you add $80 onto CheapCaribbean.com's $339 starting price to account for the government taxes and fees, this four-night Bahamas package costs $419. Buying this package would then save you $220 when compared to booking each component separately.

Keep in mind that the islands in the Bahamas are at risk of hurricanes (the Atlantic hurricane season goes until Nov. 30), so consider your travel insurance options carefully.
