Though it has an early deadline (tickets must be purchased no later than four days from now, by midnight on November 10), the current airfare sale from AirTran is comprehensive (it includes scores of city-pairs all over the country) and unbeatable in terms of price for all flights other than trans-continental ones (Virgin America is still cheaper for most Los-Angeles-to-East-Coast trips). Flights must occur on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from now until February 10; tickets must be bought at least 10 days in advance; and there are blackout dates for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.

If you can meet those conditions, you will find numerous airfares well below $100 for one-way flights, from nearly every major city of the United States in the eastern two-thirds of the country. New York to Miami, for instance, is $79.
