A Room for $15 a Night in Las Vegas? Believe It or Not, Rates are Currently Dropping That Far
At the leading hotel search engine, conveniently called Hotels.com (www.hotels.com), rates for Las Vegas hotels change almost daily. But if you’ll rush right away to survey the offerings (simply enter the words Las Vegas), you’ll be either intrigued, amused, or aghast, to find rooms currently being offered for less than $20 a night. I just took a look and found upcoming rooms in November and December renting for $15 a night (Palace Station), $17.34 (Sahara), Hooters ($20), Circus Circus ($21), Stratosphere ($24), and Imperial Palace ($27). Those surely set a world’s record (hotels in Azerbaijan charge more!) and give you some idea of the current atmosphere in that suffering town.

If you look at HotelsCombined.com, you'll see that the Golden Gate Hotel in downtown is selling for just $10 many nights in November and December! The El Cortez is $18. It's really stupefying.

But, beware. The new "resort fees" gimmick can offset your bargain rate in many Las Vegas hotels. Some hotels add on as much as $25 per day.

Can't swing a cat in the Golden Gate and the Palace Station will be for the old low rise rooms.

However if you just have a Harrah's card you should find free rooms during the week for many days in December, at least I did with my minimal card use, and it applies to most of their properties.
