In just four weeks my friend and I will leave our husbands behind in order to conquer Bangkok (or maybe it will conquer us). In addition to Bangkok, we intend to fly from Bangkok to Siem Reap to explore Angor Wat for four days. We have already reserved a room at a guest house and have secured a guide (Pon Heary) but the flight has yet to be arranged. I have looked at the Bankgok Air website and found the flight cost is roughly $300. Since we are doing this trip on a VERY TIGHT budget we are hoping we can get the flight cheaper without having to travel via the luggage compartment. A couple of questions ...

1) Is it necessary to book this flight in advance for the month of May?

2) Can this flight be booked for less at some travel agency on Khao San Road?

Any information or advice is certainly appreciated!

Try air asia its around $ 100,- check their website. If you need to spend little, take the bus fron bangkok airport to the border, everyday at around 7am und saturday, sunday also in the afternoon, its smooth and no problems, try to find one or two who shares the taxi from the border to SR with you, taxi needs tough negotiations and ignore the people who come into the bus when arriving at the border to "offer" help, they only want to cheat.

This way it only costs everything together around $ 30,-. Book the hotel before since there are very lots of tourists and especially chinese who fill all hotel rooms. for more check here> http://allcambodia.com/siem%20reap.htm that includes pics of that trip.
