Is It Safe for Young Women?

My 18 year old daughter is asking to go on a Missions trip to Cambodia.  Is it safe for her to travel there?

First, please explain "missions trip". Escorted, chaperoned, in a group or all on her own, living with a family, city, countryside, how long, church sponsered & supervised?

We get asked this sort of question often about everywhere and if your daughter is smart & sensible, takes cues from her environment, is with a group, doesn't wander at night, all the behaviors that keep young women safe everywhere in the world then, assuming the trip is sponsored by a group with experience, I have no doubt she'll be safe.

I might also suggest that instead of asking anonymous strangers here you should maybe be asking the trip sponsers and others who've gone before.

Rather than relying on anecdotal evidence from anonymous chat room handles, you'd do better to check reliable sources on travel safety like the advice for travelers provided by the British Foreign Office, the Canadian Consular Service, the Australian Government, and the U. S. State Department. I've found the British and Australian to be best. Among standard guidebooks, the Rough Guides in my experience have the best health and safety information.
