My girlfriend and I are flying into Belize City later this month and heading straight off to Caye Caulker for 4 days, then back over to the mainland for the rest of the time in San Ignacio.

These may seem like rudimentary questions, but I thought I'd ask:

1. How much is the taxi from the international airport to the water taxi?
2.  When coming back from Caye Caulker, what's the best way to get from the water taxi port over to San Ignacio?  Bus?

Any help would be appreciated!

The cost of a cab from BZE to the water taxi terminal is US$25-30.00 and takes 20 to 30 minutes.

I don't know if taking the bus is the 'best' way from Belize City to San Ignacio, but, it's certainly the cheapest.

The water taxi terminal is very close to the bus station, we took a cab, but, if you can get good directions, it is certainly walkable.

I like taking the buses in Belize.  They're mostly old school buses, no a/c, but, they're on time and safe.  If you have luggage, keep a close eye, they just put it in the back of the bus, and people use the back door as an exit.  Some of the buses to have small overheads for bags, but, not all.  We just keep our backpacks on our laps......
