Any suggestions on a good book/ city map of Tallinn and on any walking tours as well? I am thinking of doing this as I will only have a short time in Tallinn. Thanks for any advice.

I traveled to Tallinn with a Lonely Planet Scandinavia guide (or perhaps it was a Northern Europe guide - the one with Iceland's Blue Lagoon on the cover), but if you are only going to Estonia and only for a short time, it may not be the best option. Check out the map here: http://www.tourism.tallinn.ee/map - you can type in the "tourism object" you are looking for on the right (such as "old town"), on the left you can select to see attractions and then click on the "i" symbol at the top to get detailed information about the site. That website in general is a good resource - http://www.tourism.tallinn.ee/eng, as is this one: http://visitestonia.com/index.php?page=2

Also, you can download a free pdf guide to Tallinn here: http://inyourpocket.com/free-instant-city-guides.html

We just returned from Tallinn. I actually left all my travel books at home and only took a few internet printouts as I have a tendency to collect maps, brochures, books, etc while there and then have to carry it all in the luggage.. The hotel gave me a great map which we used the entire time. We could ride the bus with it too. The in your pocket is good but a little small for my eyes. We did buy a new in the pocket guide once we got to Tallinn. We started our walk in Toompea for the afternoon we arrived and found it was plenty of time and actually came back there on our 3rd and last day.
