I am flying into Paris and would like to rent a car and take the Calais ferry to England.  Because I'll primarily be in England, I'd like to rent a right hand drive car.  Is that possible to do in France?  I could do the rental either at the airport or in Calais.

I need the car because I have a dog that I am taking and you need to have a car to take a dog on the ferry!

I don't think its possible to rent a right hand drive car in France.
For your trip from Paris to London with your dog, I suggest to take the Eurostar (fast Train) in Paris. Its a 2 hours trip. very fast...
And in London, Its difficult to drive and specially find a parking (its very expensive).
SO take the train (they accept dogs in the train)

Pets are part of the family - so we treat them just as we would treat any other passenger.

Since the introduction of the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS), it is so much easier to travel with your pets.

Since February 2000, over 250,000 pets have crossed the channel with us. We were even highly commended in the 2004 Winalot Approved Dog Friendly Awards.

>>The Eurotunnel pet experience

Important!
Make sure you advise us at the time of booking that you are travelling with a pet.

Convenient!  Your pet stays with you throughout the 35-minute crossing.www.eurotunnel.com/NR/rdonlyres/C1698C9F-4B22-451C-BF8A-4283C0545E2A/0/dog1.jpg" border="0" alt="Follow the Sign to Eurotunnel's Pet Control Booth" hspace="0" width="130" height="103" align="left" />

On your return, BEFORE you enter the Eurotunnel site, you will need to visit the Pet Control Booth situated on the right before the Check In lanes so we can carry out the necessary checks.

We will read your pet's identifying microchip and check its passport and documentation to prove your pet has received all the necessary vaccinations and treatments (e.g. rabies injection and tick and worm treatment).  Checks or passports do not apply to rabbits and pet rodents.
