Does anyone have a good flea market or thrift/vintage store recommendation in Paris? I'll be spending a week there in late April/early May and would like to do some shopping -- no couture clothing or museum-quality antiques, just some interesting, reasonably priced mementos.
For antique postcards, vintage books, old photos, read the sections in this link that refer to the Passages des Panoramas and Passages Verdeau and Jouffroy
Les Puces de Vanves is a good one to see. Vendors pull their vans & cars up to the curb to unload. ( Like the antique swap meets in California) There are blocks & blocks of vendors with their wares on tables or on the ground. Get there early for the best selection, and bring small Euro"s. (Most dealers don't accept credit cards) Sat & Sun 7:00-1:00. Metro stop: Porte de Vanves

Get there well before the closing time. We arrived one Sunday just after noon hour and many of the dealers were already packing up to leave. It is a good market, though.
Les Pucas de Vanves - I hear it is wonderful.. But I am also looking for clothes (new) /> Not from stores. When in Provence several of the markets , clothes are sold from Vans.. DIs this a good market for that or other suggestions.. Going middle of April
Paris is a great city to go antiquing or just bargain hunting. The one in St. Ouen is world class and is just off a metro station. There are many that are setup along a street or 2 and are open Saturday mornings only. Here's a link to many of them: http://www.discoverfrance.net/France/Paris/Shopping/Paris_fleamkts2.shtml
