Hi ... I'm retiring in August and none of my friends wants to do Europe this year so ....... I'm looking for a female travel buddy for a 14 day, 7 country guided tour of western European. Yes, I know that's not nearly enough time to see it properly, but I fully intend to to go back to the places I can't get enough of on this trip. I think this is a good way to sample the highlights so I know where I want to go back to. The trip I'm thinking about is the European Escape at: http://www.expatexplore.com/europeescape/index.html. I'll be leaving from Toronto to London but I also have an opportunity to spend time in Wolverhampton, England with friends either on the way there or back. All in, home to home, I don't intend to be away from Canada for more than 3 weeks. I've travelled extensively over the last 35 yrs, for both business and pleasure in North, Central and South America, and now I want to venture across the water, while I'm still young enough to take it all in. I love seeing and being in new places, so this is not a spa trip or a beach trip or a wine tasting trip.... it's about seeing as much as I can and learning as much as I can, in the time I have. I love history, but don't have the time to do the research to be able to plan out all the possible stops or put them into perspective, which is why I'm going with a 'guided' tour. I did that on a Mediterranean cruise through Greece, the Greek Islands, Israel, Egypt and Turkey and found the knowledge, information and assistance provided by the 'guides' was not something I could ever have attained on my own. I'm the oldest of 5 siblings, was widowed young with 4 kids, who've given me 7 fantastic grandchildren. I have a great sense of humor and am pretty easy to get along with. I don't do drama and don't sweat the small stuff. I'm very well organized and travel fairly light but am usually prepared for just about anything. I won't expect you to stick to me like glue, but I'd like to save us both the 'single' premium they charge when we travel alone . I'm a breast cancer survivor, a bit (20 lbs) overweight but very fit and I don't tire easily. I don't have smelly feet or BO or wear heavy perfume. I only snore sometimes and don't sleep late. I do smoke occasionally but would not subject you to that and I take great care to ensure I don't smell like smoke. I don't curse a lot or laugh real loud or do anything too obnoxious. I've faced some pretty big obstacles in my life and made it through every one, so I'm pretty much about enjoying every little thing life has to offer and getting on with what ever comes next. I don't judge either, so it won't bother me if you snore or laugh too loud or have stinky feet or whatever. I just want to see and feel as much of the world as I can.
