My husband and I will be going back to paris this summer and want to take a few days to go to Strasbourg.  He said it was close to Germany.  We'll be taking trains (from Paris to Strasbourg

Train from Strasbourg France to Germany?

My husband and I will be going back to paris this summer and want to take a few days to go to Strasbourg. He said it was close to Germany. We'll be taking trains (from Paris to Strasbourg, and if we go to Germany). I was wondering how close Germany was to Strasbourg by train as far as time wise, and which city in Germany. Thanks.

The major targets of Switzerland are too far for day-trips from Strasbourg, but a fairly short hop if you want to visit for a few days. It's about 3 hours from Strasbourg to Luzern, a very appealing destinations, or about 4 hours to Lauterbrunnen, in the heart of the Berner Oberland where Alpine scenery gets no better.

Oops! I made a mistake. I had Switzerland on my mind, but I meant Germany. I just looked at the map. So, now my same question, but substituting Germany instead of Switzerland.
