So if I buy one in the UK
Would  Halfords store be the best store in the UK To buy a GPS

Any discount store that sells electronics. You might want to price compare/shop by looking at Amazon.com and Amazon UK. Good luck.

FYI, I checked the price for a GPS per day at LHR airport ... one agency 13.99 GBP per day or 198 for 2 weeks. A GPS on Amazon-UK, could be less than 100 GBP or 138 GBP for a very high end unit. Your choice.

I live in the US and have found it to be of great value. I have also used it in the UK many times and have found it to be fantastic. It is a Garmin 266W nuvi and I have a chip which works well in GB....I think you can buy one from Best Buy for about 150 and then download a map of GB for about 60....I would never be without my GPS in GB for all you need do is load the Postal Code and it takes you to the front door. Besides that it is great having a map that shows you the roads especially the one you are driving on and places to stay and eat and Gas/Petro in UK........wouldn't leave home without it.

I would like to correct a typing error in my last post. I said 266w and it is 255w...sorry as I mis-typed and didn't check before postingl. If drobert360 is correct, you sure can't go wrong with that price.
