Scotland driving vacation

attending a wedding in Dornoch Scotland in early September wanting to include a driving vacation of Scotland and then taking a train to London for a day or two. I am flying in to Inverness and I'm open to leaving from another location. Duration of trip is a total of ten days, any suggestions that make a good trip for a first time visitor to the UK<

Mike, my thought would be to dirve from Inverness to dornoch which is about 43 miles. I am assuming the wedding is at the Dornoch Castle/hotel which is very nice. Then I would come back and go East from Inverness taking in Colluden Battlefield then on to Aberdeen or the whisky trail going down to Balmoral Castle. Then you have Edinburgh. There is so much to see from that point all way down to London. You have York, Stratford Upon the Avon, Oxford and so forth. I would go out on the Internet and explore your options which will be many and with only 10 days it doesn't leave a lot of time. If you haven't driven in the Uk I recommend you get an automatic but go online and become aware of traffic signs and regulations. I consider it to be very safe driving in the UK but have driven there many times.
