Any App Recommendations?

Based on the recommendations in my home course, I downloaded the full version of the easymap GPS app to my iPhone with the intent on using this to replace my SkyCaddie 2.5 which expires this month. I love the app as it provides everything (and more) than the SkyCaddie. My only issue is the amount of battery life it used. I started the 4.5 hour round with 95% charge and ended up with 35%.

* Is this ~60% battery use normal? What are other users experiencing?
* Are there any settings changes (with the app and/or iPhone set-up) that would improve battery life?
