Hello there... Would be in California for about 16 days in the month of May with my husband and a 14 yr old son. Would be flying to Los Angeles and flying out from San Francisco. Presently thought of doing LA sightseeing (5 nights), Disneyland (2 nights), Las Vegas (4 nights including a trip to Grand Canyon), Sfo (4 nights with a day trip to Yosemite National Park).  Could anyone pls. suggest not to miss sightseeing in the above places & nearby areas of interest which can be done in a day trip. Would be renting a car while in CA.

Thanks

There is a wealth of information on all of the destinations you've mentioned already posted here on these bulletin boards as well as elsewhere on the internet. Start reading through those posts - make use of the SEARCH feature on Frommers board. Also get yourselves some good guidebooks and start reading. Once you find things that interest you please feel free to come back and ask questions about those items.

Also for road trips such as yours you might want to look into the services your local AAA provides. Their guidebooks and maps, even if you have a GPS, are quite good and IMHO worth the annual dues to join. They'll even help you plan an optimum driving route based on your interests and schedule.

Or pay for the services of a professional travel agent, because this happens to be what they do.
