We found a really great winery in Connecticut...who knew?
We were driving down I-91 and saw signs for the
Connecticut Wine Trail, so we stopped by Gouveia
Vineyards in the town of Wallingford. It is argubly one of
the best wineries that I have ever visited. They have a great
tasting room with a variety of wines to sample. During the
warmer months, there is always live music on the
weekends, and in the winter you can cozy up to the
fireplace and look out at the breathtaking scenery of the
Connecticut hills while sipping some chardonnay. We
found the owners, Joe and Lucy, to be extremely friendly
and helpful. We purchased a few bottles for gifts and we
will definitely be back for the holidays.

Jerrodsman....I couldn't agree with you more! We were at
Gouveia Vineyards this past weekend and loved it. We were
given a wine tasting by Theresa, who was extremely friendly and
knowledgeable. We called in advance about bringing a picnic
lunch -- you can bring any food that you want (beverages must
be purchased on premises) and enjoy it in the huge parlor by the
fireplace or by the windows overlooking the gorgeous scenery!
Definitely try the Cayuga White...delicious!
