2 (Adults) of us are planning a 5 day trip to Las Vegas during Thanksgiving. Following is the itinerary. Please let me know your thoughts, also if I can/should cover anything else. (Note : I have seen Grand Canyon earlier)
Day 1 -- /> Late Night arrival in Vegas, stay the night at a hotel near the strip. Day 2 -- /> Las Vegas Day 3 -- /> Las Vegas Day 4 -- /> Leave early for Zion National Park and then see Bryce Canyon. Stay overnight near Bryce Canyon Day 5 -- /> Leave early for Glen Canyon and Lake Powell. Return in the evening and stay overnight at Bryce Canyon/Zion (Please Suggest) Day 6 -- /> Leave for Las Vegas and cover Red Rock Canyon OR any other place (Please Suggest). Catch late night flight for Home
Should I reverse the order i.e. cover the National Parks and then stay 2-3 Days in Vegas ?
In my opinion you are trying to cram too much into 5 days unless all you want is to be able to say "I've been there" without much in the way of any other activities.
Instead I'd suggest picking one of the National Parks and focusing on that one. Zion is closest to Las Vegas but given a choice between Zion and Bryce Canyon I would pick Bryce Canyon. You could drive through Zion N.P. on the way to Bryce Canyon then stay two nights there before returning to Las Vegas.
I'd skip Lake Powell/Glen Canyon with this short of a timetable.
If you have the time, Red Rock Canyon is worth a visit
Thanks, I have made a revision to my earlier plan. Please suggest

I have not traveled in this area in years; these suggestions are from memory. With such a short time to see the area, I would drop the full day 5 in Vegas. Las Vegas is most interesting at night, with some places open all night. If you return to Vegas the afternoon of Day 5, you would have that evening and the next day in the city. That would allow you more time in the parks. I agree with P.Weber regarding skipping Lake Powell/Glen Canyon. It is too far from the other parks and geographically too large to justify only one day, including driving. You need to get out on the lake and into the canyons to appreciate the scenery - difficult in such a limited amount of time. Instead of Glen Canyon, why not visit Grand Staircase-Escalante, a new national monument only about 50 miles from Bryce Canyon? Here is a link to information on the monument: http://www.utah.com/nationalsites/grand_staircase.htm
