I'm not sure if this is feasible or not, but in May, we are scheduled for a 4-hour layover at the Minneapolis airport.  Our next flight will be to Hawaii, so I was thinking that we could take a taxi to a nearby restaurant for a quick lunch, taking time to stretch our legs and get some fresh air.  I've never been to MN and would like to see a little of the skyline, area, etc.  Is this feasible for the location of the airport, traffic, etc?  We will land on a Monday morning (10:30) and our next departing flight will be 2:20.

Yes?
No?

Thanks!

Hi DannaD, 4 hours is a long time to sit in the airport. 4 hours isn't a lot of time to do much sight seeing and eating so the yes / no question is yours alone to answer. There are lots of restaurants at the mall of america, which is close to the airport. Downtown Minneapolis is about a $20.00 cab ride and 25 minutes, St. Paul is maybe a little closer with some good restaurant options. But what time do you need to board your next flight? Is your luggage automaticly on your next flight? What type of restaurant are you looking for?  If I were you, I would eat at the airport(Famous Daves)and bring along a good book, you will need it on the Hawaii leg anyhow. If remember correctly it is about a 81/2 hour flight from MSP to Hawaii. Enjoy your trip, ziggypop

If I were you, I wouldn't try it.  I definitely don't think there's enough time to get to Minneapolis or St. Paul.  Maybe the Mall of America if that's your thing.  One thing to note is that the MSP airport is actually pretty big with lots of shops and bars and restaurants.  So 4 hours might not be too awful.
