Can someone please recommend a great place to eat lobster, at a reasonable price, in the Newport area (Lower MA or Upper Ct is OK, too)? We will be there this summer. Thanks, Ed and Ann

There is a place called Christies in Newport that has a great stuffed Lobster. They have an outdoor eating area in the summer that on weekends has a band.

Dear Ed, I also would recommend Christie's, although my lobster loving friends rave most about the lobster roll there. (Can't beat the ambience at night w/band and mudslides!) For whole lobsters, the best place I know along the coast in the area is actually in Noank, CT, about 1 hr and 1/2 from Newport, but 10 min. from Mystic, if you're also going there. (It's not far off I-95) It's called Abbotts, and it's super casual, oudoor picnic tables, reasonable, etc.. The lobster lovers in my family swear by it and it's very well known... they may even have a website. Enjoy!

Also try Benjamins - baked stuffed lobster usually $20.

Christie's is no more, unfortunately. Benjamin's is a good choice, as is 22 Bowens. Check out my favorite Newport website: www.tablehound.com. It's a directory of every Newport restaurant. You can search by cuisine, price, atmosphere, etc.
