We are planning an October 2008 trip to Nepal for two weeks including 8 days Jomsom trekking. I read that during Dashain festival many offices, banks, etc. are closed and roads/planes are jammed because Nepalese travel home. It was recommended to avoid this period. I would like know when the festival is this year. I also would like to hear fellow travelers opinion/past experience/advice.
