We will be arriving in San Jose 10/30/08 and staying in CR for 14 days.  I've come up with an itinerary and would like some opinions on it.  We will stay in SJ for two nights (first day see local sites, next do a north tour), then to Manuel Antonio (to break up drive to Dominical) for one night--visiting the park.  To Dominical for 3 nights, then driving to Puerto Jimenez, Osa for 3 nights (staying at a lodge two nights then closer to town for one), then head north to San Isidro one night (to break up drive back to SJ, then last night in SJ.  This leaves 2 nights remaining.  Question--where to allocate two additional nights?  Should we add one more day to MA, or possibly the Osa, or maybe even San Jose and do another tour to the north.  Our goal was to try to keep driving to a limit of about 3 hours between stops, explaining the various stops we're making.  Also, we made it as far as Dominical when we visited 10+ years ago--never took the highway.  Would you recommend taking the highway or the west coast route?  I've read mixed reviews about the dangers of driving the highway--fog, land/mudslides, cliffs w/o guard rails etc.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.  SWEETL422@AOL.COM
