Residence Yasmina Review

This is one of the best-value apartment-hotels in the city center and is only a 10-minute walk from the beach. The main building houses aging but spotlessly clean rooms that have separate bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and lounge areas; most also have a balcony. The full kitchen has a large fridge, microwave, electric hot plates, cupboards full of crockery and cutlery, and a small table that looks onto a lounge room with satellite TV and twin sofas; these become extra beds if needed. The small bedroom is functional but a little stuffy when you close the door. The bathrooms are hospital-like but are large and airy. There are two suites on each of the four floors; the largest can squeeze up to eight people. A new, separate block opened in 2008, with 30 rooms of a similar configuration to those in the old block.

Split-level swimming pools sit side by side, including a shallow pool for the kids. There is also a ground-floor cafe that offers an in-room drinks service (nonalcoholic) from 7am to 9pm. Yasmina is located next door to Agadir's Royal Tennis Club, and the pool-facing rooms include a great view of the action on the courts. A rarely used rooftop terrace has a few sun lounges, but it's a long way down to the pool. The well-stocked Anaprix supermarket is only 50m (165 ft.) away, and many of the city's restaurants are close by.

Cafe; pool

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
