Cafe Tupuna ReviewAfter a career as dressmaker, florist, and artist (her floral paintings adorn the walls), Tupuna Hewett opened this sand-floor charmer in an open-air addition to her home in the middle of the main island. Her blackboard menu depends on what the local fishermen have caught, plus tender steaks from New Zealand. For starters or a light meal, try her spicy version of ika mata (marinated raw fish) in half a coconut shell. For a main course, opt for the parrotfish cooked in banana leaves.
