Opened in 1996, this hip little spot in the popular Gold Avenue district offers finely prepared food in a relaxed urban atmosphere. With its marble table tops and hardwood floors, this place bustles at all hours. Service is courteous. Nice touches such as toast from Sage Bakehouse and upscale versions of classics greet you at breakfast. Try the "Eggs Eleganza" -- two poached eggs atop toasted green chile brioche with local goat cheese and herbs. Lunch offers salads and sandwiches and some New Mexico specialties, including fish tacos with black beans and coconut rice. The dinner menu is brief but good. You might have seafood stew or a grilled marinated chicken breast on spinach with raisins and pine nuts. An imaginative coffee, wine, and beer list accompanies the menu. Finish with a dessert special such as chocolate mousse pie.
