Hotel Santa Caterina

This is the most luxurious hotel in Amalfi, offering great, family-run service and a superb cliffside location. Guests have access to a private beach, which you can reach by elevator or a winding garden path; the pleasant swimming pool is filled with seawater and surrounded by a luscious garden and citrus groves. Guest rooms are in the main building and in three annexes. All are large and refined, with antique furnishings, ceramic tiles from Vietri, and luxurious bathrooms (some with shower only). Each opens to a private balcony or terrace with views over the sea. Some of the suites are absolutely fantastic -- Follia Amalfitana and Casa dell'Arancio, in particular; they are actually luxurious bungalows immersed in a citrus grove, with a private garden and a small pool. On-site is Restaurant Santa Caterina; Ristorante a Mare offers a simpler menu (open during the summer months only).
