Frommer's Review
One of the most appealing hotels in the region is this well-maintained pink stucco manor house. Managed by English expatriates Peter and Hazel Newington, with their children Jordan and Cassie, it was built in the mid-1800s as the centerpiece of a farm. It's a marvel of country-living grandeur, partly because of the masses of geraniums, marigolds, and flowering vines that adorn the masonry in warm weather. Mick Jagger has discovered the place; he probably stays here whenever he feels his nineteenth nervous breakdown coming on. Guest rooms are cozy and homelike, dotted with antique accessories evoking an elegant but not terribly formal English country house, though you shouldn't expect a lot of modern amenities. Bathrooms are compact and well organized with showers.
Don't miss the restaurant; local residents flock here. Items on the fixed-price menus (28€-38€/$41-$55) include dates stuffed with warm Roquefort cheese, pork pâté with onions and chutney, and Creole-style chicken in curry-flavored cream sauce garnished with pineapples.
