The Ministry of Tourism's Downtown Visitors' Center is near the Roman Amphitheater (tel. 06/464-6264), offers free maps and tourist brochures, will make hotel reservations for you, arrange rental cars, give out information on the latest of the ever changing border and visa regulations, and advise you on tours and private guides. The Visitors' Center is open daily April to October from 9am to 7pm; November to March from 9am to 5pm. The Jordan Tourism Board, in the Kalbouni Building, opposite the Jordan Tower, near the Third Circle (tel. 06/464-7951), offers similar brochures and maps, but provides no hotel or booking services.
