Dark, smoky, atmospheric, friendly -- there's no better place than Duende to experience the varied palette of small plates that are Spanish tapas. Take just one or two and you have a nice accompaniment to a few drinks; put five, six, or more together and you have a full-scale meal. Pick from dozens of choices, including tortilla española, champiñones al ajillo (garlic mushrooms), and calabacín a la marmera (eggplant with seafood). Accompany them with sangria, jump into the arena of friendly conversation, and you'll be clapping your hands and stamping your feet before long. But bear in mind that though tapas are cheap individually, their cost soon adds up.
