Frommer's Review
British celeb-chef Jamie Oliver has brought his unique restaurant concept from London to Amsterdam, by opening a branch of the budding Fifteen chain here, in the old Brazilië building in the harbor redevelopment zone east of Centraal Station. Oliver has an internationally syndicated television show, The Naked Chef. His cookbooks sell like hotcakes, and he's rustled up Tony Blair's Christmas dinner. His hip and wildly popular London Fifteen eatery took on unemployed kids and trained them to be more-than-acceptable chefs and waitstaff; his Amsterdam venture adopts the same approach. Though Oliver doesn't often preside in person, you can try his eclectic-fun cooking concept in the vast main dining room. In the more intimate trattoria, where prices are more moderate, try risottos, pasta dishes, and other Italian fare. You can also dine outdoors on a waterside terrace.
