Relaxed luxury is perhaps the best way to describe this fine hotel two blocks from Centraal Station. Some rooms have the wooden beams typical of canalside houses in Amsterdam, and each comes equipped with a trouser press, comfortable armchairs, and good desks for those who want to work. This hotel is a good bet for tourists as well as expense-account travelers. A recent renovation program has brought the rooms and public spaces right up-to-date. The New Dorrius Brasserie is a decent impersonation of an Old Dutch restaurant. Note: This hotel has been awarded a Green Key gold certificate for its environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
