Once you find it, you'll bless this hotel for its generally quiet-yet-central location, surely one of the best in town, and a friendly staff, which together make up for some deficiencies in other attributes. Tucked away on a side street just off the Dam's Nationaal Monument, the Rho's building was once the offices of a gold company and, before that, a theater from around 1908 (which is now the reception and breakfast area). Most rooms are modern and comfortable, if not overly inspired in the looks department, and some are on the small side. This is one of those places where it pays to check out a few rooms, if you can, before committing.
