Sacks is the place where Anchorage residents come to see and be seen, but more importantly, it’s a place where everyone looks at what everyone else is having....and resolves to come back and try that next time. A bright and airy downtown bistro it offers imaginative, elegantly-presented dishes such as crab-and-scallop cakes with honey chipotle aoli, curried halibut, salmon tempura and, my fave, oven-roasted duck breast with baby red potatoes and gremolata  For lunch, sandwiches, with unconventional ingredients, are the best in town. The tomato and gorgonzola soup is considered the restaurant's "Mona Lisa"—don't skip it.
