Anguillian residents since 1987, Chef Raoul Rodriguez and his wife, hostess Mary Pat O'Hanlon, have converted a traditional West Indian cottage at the east end of Anguilla into an inventive restaurant decorated with French-and Indonesian-inspired objets d'art collected from their annual world travels. The food here is equally international, with touches of the West Indies, Thailand, and France. This is a place where it's tempting to make a meal of starters, perhaps the Asian mushroom soup, and then the Caribbean smoked fish selection (a house specialty), with an order of the house-smoked tuna, mahimahi, and kingfish with ginger and horseradish, and an order of tomatoes stuffed with different cheeses. Main courses include grilled beef tenderloin served with -- are you ready? -- a crème brulée of foie gras, port sauce, and potato gratin; lighter options include a wide variety of seafood with Thai touches. Save room for the ice cream, including mint, mango, green tea, and tamarind -- all homemade, of course. Be sure to make a reservation: There are only 11 tables.
