This is where the island's British community heads to watch cricket on the flatscreen TV and American expats congregate for Super Bowl Sunday. Set in a restored clapboard house, Ripples has a raised deck, comfy wicker chairs, a casual West Indian decor, and a nightly crowd of regulars and drop-ins (including Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston the night before they announced their separation). You can get anything from a burger to fresh local fish -- mahimahi, snapper, tuna, and grouper -- prepared any way you like. Specialties include puffy brie in beer batter, traditional fish 'n chips, and cottage pie. The weekly early-bird special offering a choice of three entrees (usually one veggie, one seafood, and one traditional English roast) for $15 is one of the island's best bargains. The bar scene gets increasingly lively as the night wears on, especially when yachties come ashore to unwind. No matter how late it gets, owner Jacquie Ruan and her staff make everyone feel at home.
