Frommer's Review
If you like superbly prepared Continental fare, but are put off by the stuffiness of highbrow Euro-wannabe restaurants, this is the place for you. Rustic elegance is the best description for this century-old dairy barn. The oddly tidy exterior, which looks as if it could house a chain restaurant, doesn't offer a clue to how pleasantly romantic the interior is. The chef changes his menu every 3 weeks; specializing in game, he might feature veal with a roasted garlic, sage, and balsamic demiglace one night; Swiss air-dried beef, veal chops, Wiener schnitzel, or slow-roasted duck with sesame seeds and hoisin sauce on others. Especially good is the Dover sole, which is filleted right at your table. Finish with a delicious "Matterhorn" sundae of vanilla ice cream shingled with toasted hazelnut nougatine, and topped (for good measure) with a mix of Swiss and French hot fudges.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
