Frommer's Review
Sitting atop a grassy bluff at the end of a dirt road a half-mile from Arlington center, this rambling, white-clapboard building dates back a century and a half. It's a perfect place for travelers striving to get away from the hum of the city. Guest rooms, named after famous Vermonters, are nicely furnished with country antiques and Victorian reproductions; they vary widely in size and shape, but even the smallest has plenty of charm and character. The expansive Rockwell Kent Suite offers a four-poster canopy bed in a heavily wood-paneled bedroom, plus a wood-burning fireplace in a sitting room with French-style couches. Three town houses feature kitchens, and there's a 100-year-old post-and-beam barn good for weddings, reunions, and other gatherings. The 150 acres of grounds are ideal for exploring.
