Frommer's Review
This government-rated five-star hotel, built in the 1970s on the site of a simple guesthouse from 1882, is one of the two leading hotels here, surpassed only by the Tschuggen Grand Hotel. Surrounded by rushing streams and close to the departure point of one of the cable cars rising into the surrounding mountains, the hotel is large, glamorous, and contemporary, with well-insulated, spacious, and exceedingly comfortable bedrooms plus deluxe bathrooms. The decor combines warm tones with pine-wood paneling. Almost everyone stays here on half board (which is, for the most part, required). At Christmastime prices go even higher than those mentioned.
