Getting There

Trains leave hourly during the day from London's Victoria Station. The trip takes 1 1/4 hours. For rail information, call tel. 0845/748-4950 or visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Most bus connections are through Littlehampton, opening onto the English Channel west of Brighton. From Littlehampton, you can leave the coastal road by taking bus no. 700 (run by Stagecoach Coastline), which runs between Littlehampton and Arundel every 30 minutes (7am-7pm) during the day. If you're dependent on public transportation, the Tourist Information Centre keeps an update on the possibilities.

If you're driving from London, follow the signs to Gatwick Airport; from there, head south toward the coast along the A29.
