Ascona is quiet and calm, with not nearly as energetic a night scene as, say, nearby Lugano. A likable bar favored by those seeking live music is Piper, via Aerodromo 3 (tel. 091/791-13-74). Finally, an establishment noted for its ability to provide feminine companionship for unaccompanied men is Happyville, via Borgo (tel. 091/791-49-22), where a tiny dance floor is a lot less important than the seductively lit stage. Strip shows are usually presented nightly beginning around 11:30pm.
