Frommer's Review
This is the most culturally diverse and, in some ways, the most intriguing cafe and restaurant in Asheville, with enough different themes to keep prospective diners moving through its premises until they settle on the venue they like best. The street level (the Frog Bar Deli) offers a disjointed and relatively informal warren of outdoor and indoor tables in at least four different seating areas, each accented with copper trim, beige tiles, and a New Wave sense of "live and let live." Downstairs, in the cellar, is a more formal dining area (the Flying Frog Café), one that celebrates the enigmatic fusion of French, German, and Indian cuisine. Here, at banquettes that romantically engulf their occupants in yard upon yard of milk-colored mosquito netting, you can order from a menu that's 50% devoted to the spicy cuisine of Bombay (the lamb vindaloo is delicious) and 50% devoted to French and German items that include sauerbraten, Wiener schnitzel, and bouillabaisse.
