Frommer's Review
Pallotta's pair of brightly lit stone-and-plaster rooms sees its share of tourists siphoned off from the nearby Piazza del Comune, but it hasn't wavered from serving good Umbrian food at fair prices. The antipasto misto is a meal in itself, with Assisi's torta al testo, crostini, sliced meats, and more. The strangozzi alla Pallotta are served with a pesto of olives, mushrooms, and some peperoncino for kick, and the ravioloni al burro e salvia come in a light butter-and-sage sauce. Move on to the coniglio alla cacciatore (rabbit in tomato sauce with a side of plain torta al testo) or the pollo arrosto (roast chicken). Although the menù turistico includes wine, the tasting menu offers better food choices.
